The Fantastic Trio, Saas-Fee

A world record rarely goes unaccompanied – at least not in Saas-Fee. Three fascinating world-record holders await you on the Mittelallalin.

1.The Metro Alpin, 2.The Ice Pavilion,
3. the highest rotating restaurant in the world.

Allalin, Saas-Fee

The Alpine Express cable car and the highest underground train in the world – the Alpine Metro – bring you comfortably up to Mittelallalin. At 3,500 metres above sea level, this is the highest tourist attraction in Saas-Fee – that is, unless you’re athletic enough to climb to one of our 18 4,000-metre peaks.

Felskinn/Britannia Hut

Here, beautifully prepared slopes await you along the route to Morenia ski resort. Felskinn is also the starting point for spectacular hikes, e.g. over the Fee and Chessjen glaciers to the Britannia Hut with its charming keeper Dario Andenmatten.

Hannig, Saas-Fee

The Hannig (2,350 m above sea level) offers fantastic vistas of the Mischabel chain’s four-thousand metre peaks, especially from the terrace of the restaurant, making this sunshine hotspot the best spot to drink in the views.

Kreuzboden, Saas-Grund

An eight-person cable car brings you up from Saas-Grund to the ski resort of Kreuzboden (2,400 m above sea level) in comfort. In Kreuzboden, you'll find yourself surrounded by all eighteen of the 4,000-metre peaks of the saas valley.

Hohsaas, Saas-Grund

You can take in some of the most impressive views of the Mischabel chain’s 18 4,000-metre peaks and the Monte Rosa massif from Hohsaas, which can be reached from Kreuzboden in an eight-person cable car. Throughout winter, the immaculate slopes rising 3,200 m above sea level, will set your pulse racing.

Furggstalden, Saas-Almagell

High above Saas-Almagell and easily accessible by chairlift, Furggstalden (1,893 m above sea level) is the oldest hamlet in saas valley, that is still inhabited.

Heidbodme, Saas-Almagell

The pistes of Heidbodme high above Saas-Almagell are always swathed in snow. But the journey by chairlift to this lookout point at 2,400 m above sea level is worth your while even in summer. The distant view of the Mischabel chain and the Monte Rosa massif is simply breathtaking – and the ultra-modern mountain restaurant draws you in with its delicious menu and panoramic terrace.

Stausee Mattmark, Saas-Almagell

Yet another record holder in the saas valley: the Mattmark reservoir at 2,200 m above sea level has Europe’s biggest embankment.

Spielboden, Saas-Fee

Whilst you’re up on the Spielboden (2,450 m above sea level) enjoying the beautiful ski resort in winter, our cute furry friends are still sleeping like logs in their burrows. However, in spring our marmots come out to play and are more than happy to be tempted with carrots and nuts.

Längfluh, Saas-Fee

Whether it's summer or winter, the never-ending ice of the Saas glaciers is particularly stunning on the Längfluh (2,870 m above sea level). Get up there with the aerial tram from Spielboden. With the Dom – Switzerland’s highest mountain at 4,545 m above sea level – in your midst, even the peaks of the Mischabel chain seem within touching distance.
