History
How it all began:
The hotel was built and opened in the spring of 1973 by Georg and Marie Bumann and has been managed for 22 years by the 2nd generation of the family, Rolf and Daniela Bumann. Today, the activity Hotel Etoile is a modern, cosy 3-star Superior Holiday Hotel with 22 bedrooms and excellent hotel infrastructure. Continuing investment in the quality of service and infrastructure by the proprietors has made this development possible. The current financial situation is being tackled at the Hotel Etoile with innovation and creativity, but with consistency, too. Excellent quality of service and sensitive price management have formed the basis of our daily work for years.
The most important milestones...
...along the way from being a simple bed-and-breakfast establishment to a 3-star Superior Hotel:
1973 The Hotel Etoile is built between 1972-73 by Georg and Marie Bumann, the first generation, and opens at Easter. For the next 18 years, they look after countless Etoile guests with heart and soul.
1991 The next generation takes over at the “house of hospitality”. The hotel passes on to their two sons, Albert and Rolf, and has been managed since then by Rolf and Daniela Bumann and family.
1993 As part of the facade renovation, the exterior appearance of the Hotel Etoile is changed and rejuvenated in the spring of that year.
1996 Renovation of the accommodation storey - the bedrooms, the bathrooms and the staircase are modernised and renovated.
1997 Complete renovation of the lounge area
2001 After a 10-year period of working as co-proprietor, Albert Bumann leaves the hotel business. Rolf and Daniela continue to manage the hotel.
2005 Restructuring and extension (lower and ground floor) - renovation of dining room, bar, restaurant, reception, entrance and leisure area.
2010 Careful renovation of bedrooms: the Bumann family go to the moon for their guests - by conjuring up a starry sky over the beds in most rooms - invisible by day but bringing romance to the rooms at night.
2012 Hotel classification to a 3-star Superior Hotel – allowing a crown to be placed on the Etoile. This is an award for above-average infrastructure and is given to the best businesses in the relevant star category. Redesign of the sauna area, new downstairs lavatory, upgraded bathrooms in the bedrooms, installation of a new lift, improved fire safety measures.
2013 Entrance area redesigned
2014 Extension of the north wing with new electrically operated garage
2015 The Etoile has new splendour with its new and sustainable balcony balustrades. For the first time, Etoile receives five different major awards!
