Chapel Trail 

The Chapel Trail begins at Zur Hohen Stiege chapel on the path from Saas-Fee to Saas-Grund. As you continue along the route to Saas-Grund, you'll pass 15 more chapels, each of which contains a carved wooden figure depicting one of the 15 mysteries of the rosary.

Carl Zuckmayer Trail 

This hiking trail was created in 1996 in honour of author Dr. Carl Zuckmayer. Along the way, you'll see five serpentine rocks with quotations from the speech German-born Zuckmayer made when he became a Swiss citizen. The trail leads from his former home, Haus Vogelweid, to Bärenfalle and then on to Melchboden and Café Alpenblick.

Glacier Trail

With half of the municipality covered in ice, it's no wonder that Saas-Fee is called the "glacier village". The twelve stations along the Glacier Trail explain how glaciers have shaped the landscape and how the climate and glaciers influence one another.

Sun Trail 

Want to walk on the sunny side of life? Then follow the Sun Trail from the Hannig to Café Alpenblick! The route is constantly bathed in brilliant sunshine and is sure to leave you radiant, especially since you'll be able to read lots of illuminating information along the way!

Saas-Fee Trail 

This trail allows visitors to witness the particular features and challenges of living in and around Saas-Fee. Starting at Hannig moutain station (2,350 m), the route takes you over to Schönegg and Torrenbach before heading over the moraine to the glacial lake and back down to Saas-Fee.

Fairytale trail 

This is one fairytale that your kids won't forget in a hurry. In the middle of an enchanting larch wood, experience the sights and sounds of the story of little Pia, who one day wanders into the land of the dwarves and learns all the tales of the Saas valley. The trail lasts around one hour. 

Kreuzboden Wellness and Pleasure Trail

The Kreuzboden Wellness and Pleasure Trail is 1.2 kilometres long and offers visitors all that they could ask of a gentle walk in the great outdoors. This picturesque themed trail features quiet spots with hammocks, a picnic area with a barbecue, and a mountain hut. Duration: around one hour, depending on whether you chose to walk at a fast or leisurely pace.

Alpine Flower Trail 

Thousand-year-old larches and over 240 different plant species line this trail, amongst them rare flowers found only in the Saas Valley.The start of the Alpine Flower Trail is on the Kreuzboden above Saas-Grund.

"18 4,000 metre peaks"

The Saas Valley is surrounded by 18 peaks of 4,000 metres or more, and each mountain has its own story. Each stop along the trail features a small sculpture of each mountain, photographs of the individual peaks, and information about the mountain's history, such the date of the first ascent.

Tranquillity Trail

This trail features quiet spots ideally suited to meditation and quiet contemplation. As you enjoy an energising stroll, relax and experience inner peace in harmony with nature. The Tranquillity Trail starts at the valley cableway station in Saas-Grund.

Suonen Trail 

Hike along the valley's old water channels, known as Suonen, from Saas-Almagell to Saas-Grund, passing through the quaint hamlets of Zum Moos and Unter den Bodmen. These old channels irrigated fields and gardens via ditches and wooden pipelines in dry periods and are a testament to human ingenuity in times of need.

Forest Trail 

Take the chairlift from Saas-Almagell to Furggstalden and then make your way along the Forest Trail. The route takes you from the charming old hamlet of Furggstalden and along a forest path back down to Saas-Almagell. The information boards along the way explain the important role forests have for our planet.

Almagell Adventure Trail 

With its suspension bridges (the longest is 60m in length) and well-maintained rocky passages, the Almagell Adventure Trail, which leads from Furggstalden round the Almagellerhorn to the Almagelleralp, truly deserves its title. It's the perfect hike for adventurous families, young adults and those who are simply young at heart.
